The area of West Torrance is a popular area located west of Hawthorne Boulevard and between Torrance Boulevard and 190th St. It borders on Redondo Beach on the West. Torrance Beach makes this city one of the LA South Bay Beach Cities

Pacific Colony was built in 1991-1996 a gated community of Single family With larger Homes with 3-4 bedrooms on former Drive in theater homes are 2400- 3400 square feet and above.

The area contains, single residential homes, Town homes and apartment buildings light industry, Commercial buildings Strip centers, medical shopping centers and malls, large housing complexes, .The commercial areas are along, Anza Avenue, Hawthorne Boulevard and Torrance Boulevard which includes the Daily Breeze newspaper plant.
